Why I do, what I do

Boxed Off Health & Safety is a founder-led Health & Safety consultancy created to do Health & Safety properly not just compliantly.

Founded and led by Iain Wylie (most people know me simply as Wylie), Boxed Off exists to make Health & Safety simpler, more engaging and genuinely useful for real organisations, particularly small to medium-sized businesses that want things done properly, without corporate complexity.

At Boxed Off Health & Safety, I understand the importance of independent, hands-on support. With a genuinely personal approach, I work closely with each organisation and go above and beyond to deliver practical, effective solutions that prioritise safety, reduce risk and give leaders confidence in what they’re doing.

Over the course of my career, I’ve seen first-hand the real consequences of poor or neglected Health & Safety from costly legal disputes to life-changing injuries and incidents that were entirely preventable. Those experiences have shaped how I work and why Boxed Off exists.

I’m passionate about helping organisations avoid those situations by putting clear, proportionate Health & Safety systems in place systems that people understand, can access easily and actually use day to day. My priority is always the safety of your team, contractors, volunteers, visitors and guests, alongside genuine peace of mind for you.

To support this approach, I hold professional qualifications including NEBOSH in Occupational Health & Safety, NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management, NEBOSH Environmental Management, and the Award in Education & Training. These ensure everything I deliver meets the highest standards of expertise, professionalism and practical application.

This isn’t overcomplicated or corporate Health & Safety. It’s clear, affordable and grounded in real-world experience delivered by someone who genuinely cares about getting it right.

One of the biggest gaps I saw time and again was the lack of a single, trusted place for Health, Safety and Wellbeing information. That’s why Boxed Off developed its core offering a modern, website-style Health, Safety & Wellbeing hub built inside Microsoft 365 using SharePoint.

Rather than adding new software, subscriptions or platforms, the system sits securely within your existing Microsoft 365 environment. It’s fully branded to your organisation, clearly structured and designed to feel familiar and intuitive more like a website or app than a filing cabinet.

All your key Health & Safety information lives in one place: policies, procedures, risk assessments, forms, registers and wellbeing resources. It looks professional, is easy to navigate and becomes a genuine resource your people actually return to.

My background spans senior operational and leadership roles across charities, estates, theatres, hotels and visitor destinations. I’ve held responsibility for Health & Safety, estates, people and culture, contractors, volunteers and organisational compliance often in environments with limited budgets and small teams wearing multiple hats.

That experience means I understand the pressures leaders face and the realities of managing risk in busy, people-focused organisations. Everything Boxed Off delivers is shaped by that understanding and grounded in what actually works.
